I create social media content in different media formats: graphics, illustrations, animations, GIFs, and short shareable videos for different channels and audiences.
I’ve played a part in increasing the social media impact of multiple organizations and initiatives, notably Parks Canada/Parks Life, PowerShift Canada, and my business, Big Day Birding. My strength is engaging communities through original, topical and inspiring content.
My content can be repurposed across different social media channels.
Here’s a sample of some of the work I’ve done for different clients.
For Parks Canada, I wrote/co-wrote and edited 15 social media videos in French and English, some of which I also shot. Here’s a link to one that I wrote and edited. It has over 1.5 million views across all platforms.
Here’s an example of a video that I wrote, shot and edited over the summer.
I was also the Digital Communications Director for Powershift Young & Rising, the largest youth conference for climate justice in Canadian history. It was a lot of fun, and a lot of work; here are some of the Instagram posts I created leading up to the conference. I created the Instagram account and gained over 1.5k active followers in three months.
In 2017, I founded Big Day Birding, a birdwatching apparel dropshipping business, and for the first year worked on building its social media presence. I used a multitude of tactics to populate the Big Day Facebook and Instagram feeds (@bigdaybirding), like a “birder of the week” feature, puzzles, contests, user-generated content, and much more. Here are a couple of my posts, the most popular of which was organically shared over 800 times on Facebook.
Lastly, this is a music video that I shot and edited for my friend Kylie Fox. Apart from being a great song, it shows some of my digital animation abilities.
