I’m a videographer! I’m working towards my ultimate goal of becoming a video director.
The bulk of my experience comes from my time working as a videographer for Parks Canada. In collaboration and solo, I have written and shot a variety of videos destined for Parks’ English and French social media platforms. Of the videos I singlehandedly edited, some have garnered over 1mil organic views across platforms. These generally took the form of “shareable” square videos intended to ease proliferation — simple, moving messaging, and exciting, beautiful visuals.
Here’s an example of a video I co-wrote, co-filmed and edited — it garnered 49K views on Parks’ English Facebook page.
My experience at Parks has built a robust understanding of how to create a video that will succeed on the internet.
I’ve created music videos such as Kylie Fox’s “Alberta”, which can be found here; it features a mix of animation and cinematography.
In addition, I was employed for a year as one of two videographers for my university paper. Although I was quite inexperienced at the time, I’m proud of some of the work that came out of it, such as this video which I shot and edited about Mount Allison’s first Powwow.
I also do photography. Here’s a couple recent shots.
